Cold and high water

at the club.
Met Steve at dawn and off we went.
I got one on the first cast despite the unfavorable conditions, which I promptly lost. Picked up a second fish below the lower quad bridge and here begins the story of the day. Hooked the fish from the bridge, and when I tried to finagle the rod under a fallen tree below the bridge, I got the line hopelessly tangled on a tree. Steve to the rescue.
He got out of the creek, and climbed down over a steep hill, waded out in the strong, high water and I handed the rod down to him. Steve broke off a branch that freed the fish and then he passed the rod back to me, below the tangle. I got him close to shore and Steve scooped him up and held him for the photo. It was a mad scramble filled with lots of laughs, but a happy ending to a really cold morning at Yellow. As a testament to this wonderful fishery, even in the worst conditions we managed to catch 4 fish.
