My dream came true

when I got up from my cabin, drove 35 min to Sixteen Mile Run and had a great day of fishing to boot.

Got there before dawn and fished in the dark to no avail.  When the sun came up the fish turned on and I caught my first steelie of the year on my center pin.  The fishing only got better and better and the 3 guys in the hole I fished with all caught a bunch of fish, including some doubles.  It was just an awesome day.

Got up the following morning for a repeat, and just the opposite happened.  A complete bust at 16, Elk, and Walnut.  Saw fish caught on Elk in the mud hole, mostly on spinners.   The place was packed as was the nut and 16.  As good as my first day was, the second was just plain….bad.

But the goal of getting up, driving a half hour, coming home to a hot lunch and not driving 3 hrs home was so cool.

It was pouring in Erie, the run is on for 2012 for sure.
