Day before the tournament

we stocked over 200 trout.

Some whopper brooks and tigers in this batch.

Should have saved this brown for tomorrow.

Buddy, John, put me on to a huge bow that I promptly hooked……..and lost.  Bummer!

Print screened from a video.  Should have cleaned the lens.

Dodged a lot of rain

but catching this guy was well worth it.

Once again, the Yellow Creek Trout Club pulled through.

Got 2 nice browns today, but the palomino always makes the day extra special.

Met nephew, Dan, and some of his NC buddies and even though the creek was high, we all managed to land a couple of good fish.

Well it happened again…this time even more incredible

I hooked a giant bow at the curve.  After waiting for him to find his way out of a sunken branch and following him up and down the hole I finally landed him.  Reaching for my camera I approached the fish and found the line wrapped around my foot,  Kicking the line upwards I swung the fish around just enough for him to swim back out, bust my line and swim off.

Never so bummed in losing a fish that was not only caught, but banked.

Met up with Steve and we went down to Campbell’s dam.  Man, did we hook some fish!  Above and below the dam we put on a mini clinic in catching fish.  We fished right up till dark.

When I lost the big fish I know I sounded like a broken record in losing big fish when I told Steve about it.  I guess what I am really saying is that the Yellow Creek Trout Club never ceases to amaze me with the quality of that fishery.  For the good times, the camaraderie, the water quality, and of course the fishery is just simply put, the YCTC is second to none.

April 11, 2019

Had a really good day at the club.  Some of the many nice fish I managed to catch today.  Perfect water, weather, and conditions at the Yellow Creek Trout Club.

Not a lot of people and that was surprising considering the great weather and water conditions.

Low, but cloudy

at the club today.

Found the palomino, but did not get him to bite.  He was trying to spawn with this trout that I was able to catch, the fish on the right.  The fish on the left came from the hole above.

Saw stoneflies hatching everywhere, but not a lot of trout rising.

Did waste a lot of time on the goldies, but no luck catching them.  Lost a monster below the lower quad.
