Another steelhead for your viewing pleasure. We are stocking Yellow Creek on Friday, then look out. Taking Bridgette along, so look for a pic or two of her. Just talked to steve, and he reported perfect water in the stream. Will keep you posted on how it went.
This is a steelhead I caught at Elk Creek on Saturday. I hooked up several fish, but only landed about one out of three fish I had on. The weather was crumby, but the creek was not that crowded. There are a lot of fish in the streams. All in all it was a great day, despite leaky boots.
This is the brown below before we released him into the stream. Steve is holding the brown before letting it go into the swimmin’ hole. Notice the low water conditions. Hopefully we are getting some rain. Another stocking at the end of the month…then, look out! Yellow will be back for sure.
Got this brown at the swimmin’ hole on a size 20 sucker spawn in chartruse. Picked up another 20′ fish in the hole above it. The creek was really low and clear and the fish were spooky. Another highlight of the day was seeing a coyote on the way to the creek. We are stocking again in 2 weeks. The distance from the butt cap on my rod to the end of the cork is 11″. How big is this brown? Lemme know what you think.
Met Steve and Matt at the club and stocked some beautiful fish. A lot of tigers, and we put in several really big browns and bows. Wish I could get up this weekend to fish for them. You will see my dog Bidgette in the photo. She really likes fish and I hope to take her to the club more often.
We are stocking in two weeks. The Yellow Creek Trout club is again well on its way into reemerging as one of the best places to fish on this planet. We even put in a really large palomino.
