First Fish of Fall season

This was the first fish of the season, a tiger caught at the step dam. Read all about the trip in Al’s weekly newsletter if you are on the mailing list. This tiger was taken on a wooly bugger streamer.
The weather was perfect. We are waiting for the water to get a little cooler. A double stocking next month, and the creek will return to all its glory. Yellow Creek Trout club is truly an awesome experience.

First Trip

This is a rainbow that was caught on a yellow spawn right above the swimmin hole. The water temp was a little warm and we managed 8 fish between us. It was a great day to be on the water and to kick off our 06-07 season at Yellow Creek. I wish my scanner was working so I could upload an image that Steve gave to Al and me. If I can, I will upload it onto the blog….many, many thanks, Steve.

Stocking Today

The date is the 8th of September and I am heading to Yellow today to stock fish, to Ohio tonite to see my son, and fishing on Sunday to try and catch what we stocked.

Be prepared to see some great pics of the stocking and some great pics of the fish we catch on Sunday

Erie Steelhead

Posting a picture of a steelhead caught from Elk Creek. There is really not a lot of size difference between an Erie steelie and the fish we catch at the club. This one fell for a wooly bugger,

Couple more buddies

Here is John (with fish) and Jerry behind (waving). These guys are good friends and fishing buddies and both of these guys can fish. Jerry is one of the best fly tiers I know, and I know a lot . This photo was snapped at a tournament at the club 3 years ago.
