Today I managed to land 5 and lost another 3 carp. The water was really low and clear. The good news….there are many trout left in some stretches and with a little rain and some luck, summer will be over and the trout stocking will resume.

August 5 at the Yellow Creek Trout Club
and the creek was at a great level for this time of year.
Saw healthy trout, but carp was on the agenda for today.
My total was around 7 fish, but I really had to work for them for sure. They weren’t jumping in the creel. All fish were from the straight stretch and a big assist goes out to Steve Renosky.
July 9th
and it looked like the opening day. Lots of fisherman there today.
Warming water means carp at the Yellow Creek Trout Club and it was a good carpin day at that. I managed around 10 fish and only managed to lose one fish. Saw tons of smallmouth, carp, and some really nice walleye. I was after carp with the pin and the club did not disappoint.
Did see a lot of trout, but the water has them somewhat stressed. Hence, I fish for carp as not to stress the trout in this warmer weather.

Spent 2 Days at Chautauqua Lake
with my nephew, Dan, and Todd Young, muskie guide extraordinaire.
On day one, Dan boated this 44 inch muskie on a plug that Todd made. This is the new record for us in the 3 year tradition of fishing with Todd and Muddy Creek Charters.
By all means if you need a good fishing guide contact Todd at Muddy Creek Charters. You won’t be disappointed.
My muskie was a little smaller, but I was thrilled to catch it. I did catch another smaller than that, but not big enough to take a pic.
This is one that shows one of Todd’s lures and one of his many muskie “catches”.
