and went to Little Sandy outside Brookeville with fishing buddy, Frank.  Got there around 5:30.

We caught around 16 fish and the largest may have been 12 inches.  Strong, high, and fast water had all the fisherman working hard for a lot of small fish.  Did not see a quality fish caught.

We went to the trout club and the opposite happened there.  After talking with Al, Nate, and Andrew we proceeded down the creek to our usual spots and we caught 4 really large fish on a green worm of all things.  The brown was around 25, 2 bows, and a brookie that was 20 inches.  One bow ate a size 20 spawn.  In addition we picked up some smaller fish around 15 or so.  Quite a contrast from the open water.

Though my knees are getting better, if it weren’t for Frank I would still be standing stranded in Little Sandy.

Scouted Little Sandy for the opening day.  High, but should fish ok on Sat, the opening day.

Did hit the fly project for 8 small brookies and browns, and I do mean small.

Makes me appreciate the Yellow Creek Trout Club.

and Steve put in another 190 fish.  Soon we will not be able to see to the bottom with so many fish.

Fished after we stocked and caught 8 at Campbell’s dam  White streamers were the ticket.

Hit a lull, but did nail this huge bow at the grate.  The new dam was stingy today and so was the lower quad bridge to a degree.  The walking bridge provided a lot of action before I left.

Met some great people from Akron and we swapped some dog stories and pictures.

and saw few cars at the club.

Had the pleasure of fishing/coaching a young lady who learned to cast a fly rod faster than almost any one I have ever seen before.

Went to below the new dam where she hooked at least 8 fish.  I don’t know if she landed any, but did have a lot of long range releases.

I fished for a few more hours afterwards and once again, landed some really nice fish.  The ooey gooey grub pulled through and I got the big bow on that.  The brown was on a size 20 egg spawn.
