Fished before we stocked

and I got 2 fish on my first 2 casts.  Picked up a monster at the walking bridge and 2 more at the lower quad.  Cut the fishing off short to help Steve stock.

A guy picked this fish up above the last dam and wanted to post it due to the color.  Funny thing is, no one remembers stocking this fish.redtrout

It was cold today

decbowdecpal

and although we had to work for them, the Yellow Creek Trout Club provided some quality fishing today.

Steve and I headed down to the last dam and he showed me a new spot that gave up a nice 19 inch bow.  Farther down at the dam, the bead fly once again pulled through along with tiny sucker spawns in the fast water below the dam.

Finished the day at the lower quad and walking bridge where we both picked up some monster bows and my palomino friend and I had another go round.

Thanks, Steve, for helping me hobble around the creek today.  My left knee was killing me all day.  Hurt about as much as hooking my fly in my hand today did. and had to remove with forceps.  Been a while since I did that.

The Yellow Creek Trout Club

widebeadbrownwidebrownwidebowwas low, but the fish didn’t mind.

I started out the day with a bow over 20 at the red bridge.

The lower quad stretch provided fish by walking down the creek fishing, turning around and refishing the same water.  Both trips down provided plenty of action.

Found a stretch of water full of fish below that under some hemlocks and was astounded at how many fish were in the stretch of what I thought was “flat water”.  Did land one palomino and lost another above the quad bridge.

Ended the day with the fat fish pictured.

Got to Yellow Creek Trout Club

a little late.  But so glad I went.

First fish of the day was a palomino and picked up a second goldie before the day was over.

A buddy of mine and I landed 8 fish over 20 inches and the bead fly was the go to fly today.  We hammered them on that fly and we need to get more of the beads.  They worked every where we fished them.  That is one hot “fly” for sure.

Couldn’t say what the final count was, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we totaled 25.paltrot1paltrout2biggie1biggie2

Chautauqua Creek

finally had a good amount of fish in it.

Got to the trestle pre light and waited for the sun to come up.  Nothing for the first hour.

Just as the guys started  to arrive, the fish turned on.  I managed to catch 9 fish and some of them were really nice.

I saw several fish landed and every one of them was killed, even small jacks were put on stringers.  I can’t understand the mentality of these guys.  Not only are they ruining the fishing by taking them, but the creek/lake are polluted and if these guys eat them…..they are risking their health.  Go figure….I can’t.steelnovsteelnov2
