Dan, Sean, and I fished the club

and we were joined later in the day with Steve, Michelle, and her son.bridgetrout

We started out kinda slow, but the fishing picked up.

Dan caught this fish (pic underwater) and put on a clinic with a new egg pattern below the new dam.  Every time I tried to take a pic, he dropped the fish.

Sean caught this brown out of a hole that I pulled 10 fish out of.  I never thought he would get a hit, but caught this brown and several other fish from the same spot.

My day was really good and caught a ton of fish in the usual spots, especially the honey hole where Steve and I ended the day.  Steve landed some really nice fish there and got Michelle’s son into a few whoppers.

Fished from 9 till 3 today

and things picked up after a slow start.

The higher flow has moved/spread the fish out and they were not concentrated and as a result the guys had to work a little harder for them.  Don’t get me wrong, the fish can and were caught, but it was a tad more challenging.  The flow and color were good.

Most of my fish came from below the lower quad bridge, below the new dam, and at the honey hole.

I did land  4 fish over 20 to-squarebowhoneybow

day…………

Went to Chautauqua Creek

steel 15and found the trestle loaded with fish…and fisherman.

Two guides were there and since they are making a living I gave the hole to them to fish.  As I was leaving and walked the length of the hole I noticed it was full of steelhead.

I went to the lower end 0f Chautauqua and picked up a small jack and this fresh chromer from a spot I never fished before.  It will be revisited on my next trip up.  This new spot is one really nice piece of water.

Got this tiger

at the walking bridge, but the huge bow at the bottom of the quad bridge stretch continues to elude me.  I hooked him and had him on for a minute or too, but he got off.

The rainbow also came from the walking bridge.

The club has not fished better than it is right now.  The fishing has always been great, but currently it has been beyond belief in the number of fish caught.tiger 15bow 15

NY streams pulled through

16 in Erie did not.

I fished the dam on 16 hard and for 2 hrs, nada, zilch, not a hit.

Stopped at Chautauqua Creek and picked one up at the dead end.

Went to the stone bridge in Westfield and saw around 10 fish from the bridge.  I hooked at least 8 of them and saved the day.steelhea

Much needed rain fell as I was leaving.  Hope to hit the club on Thursday and back to NY next week.
