today at the club and I nailed 5 really nice fish. Did catch one trout and the biggest smallmouth of my life….by accident.
We stocked last Friday and will stock again this Friday. But, if the carp are cooperating, I will fish for them.

at the club and struggled…..at first.
The water was really low and clear and the carp were spooky. Spent 2 hrs to hook one fish.
The rains came and I was stuck at the boulder hole and got totally drenched. Totally. The creek chalked up and the fish turned on. Picked 3 up at the boulder hole and 3 more in the Strait Stretch.
The trout are still alive and well. Was still wet when I got home.
4 guys at the club. Actually I was there helping Steve guide 4 guys at the club.
The creek was low, but cold! The fish were all healthy, but cooperative. All species we fished for were caught and released to fight another day.
Nicer guys you will never meet. Finer waters you will never fish.
I have to pinch myself and tell myself this is August. The creek is that healthy!
tomorrow’s colonoscopy I decided to go carpin at the club.
I hooked 7 0r 8, missed a lot more than that, but did manage to land 3 whoppers.
The conditions were perfect for the carp. Did see many healthy trout and luckily didn’t hook any of them.
turned into a great day.
Steve and Michelle started the day off with a bang!. They were into fish as soon as we got there. I missed hit after hit after hit.
When I finally did connect I managed around 6 or 7 for the day, and Steve did that number easily and more.
