The fishing was great in the early morning

bbow1paulikas I caught one of the “steelhead” sized trout we put in for the last stocking.  I caught a few more, but that one almost made my day.

What put the icing on the cake was fishing with my college roommate and his brother.  43 years have passed, but we always manage to pick up right where we left off.  Even better, if that is possible, we absolutely had a blast catching fish.  The hole below the new dam and the boulder hole provided steady action for us and the Paulik boys really lit em up there.

Truly a banner day.  PS………….thanks for the mug, Steve and Joe….awesome!

Might have been

one of my best days ever at the club.  If you spit in the water a fish would rise and hit it.

I fished in 4 spots and I had to  have caught 30 fish.  I fished from 7-1 pm and the fishing could not have been better.

The creek was perfect and no one was there…one drawback.  On the way home I slammed my center pin Clarus rod  in the car door.  I am always up for buying a new rod, just not under those circumstances.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Doesn’t make up for

DCIM100GOPROjoepalmy poor performance at the tournament but Steve, Joe, and I had a ball fishing the club on Tuesday.

We chipped a way at fish the whole way down the creek and things turned on at Stonehedge.  We were all catching fish there, but when we got to the last wooden dam, the creek went nuts.  We plastered the fish there, including a few doubles.  We stood on the dam, got a back drift, and simply lit em up.  We took over 20 fish out of that spot easily.

On the way back Joe spotted the palamino and after a few casts I caught him….the plot thickens.  2 hours later another member caught him as well.

These next few weeks will be the best ever.  And that is tough to beat!

The tournament

is over and we drew 2 decent beats.  Al had a great day and actually won for the most fish.  Nate and Dan added their share.

I picked the worst day of the year to come up blank.  I managed one fish, an 18 inch brookie and lost at least 10.  Plain and simple, I stunk.

After the tournament Nephew Sean and I went back down and fished and I had no problem catching fish.  But during the tournament……………I could not have done much worse.  Oh, well.

We stocked

and the fish we put in looked like Erie steelhead and Olcott browns.  When I bring in my camera I will upload pics.  The fish were simply put – awesome!

We put in over 200 and the club is just filthy with fish.  While stocking every guy I saw had fish on, and that was before we stocked.  Speaking of before we stocked…

I fished from dawn until ten and caught 2 fish in a hole, then went to the next, caught 2 and so on.  Tried some new stuff for the tournament and the fish were hitting everything.  Hooked a goldy only to lose him under a log, the only one around for miles to boot.

Oh well, hope we draw good beats for the tourney, but we have already won, knowing our donation is going to the Alle Kiski Health Foundation so they can continue the awesome work they do.
