the club this Friday with the “usual” (amazing) assortment of outstanding fish.
I did not return to fish because of the rain we got, but the fishing there is only getting better and better and better…
and Pa fishing was at its finest.
Went to the cabin with nephew, Dan. Started out at Elk and it was blown out. Moved to 16 mile run and it was one fish after another for the two of us. The video link will show some of the action, check it out.
The next day we went back to 16 and we caught even more fish than the day before. From there, Dan wanted to go to Chautauqua Creek and we finished the day there, again catching a ton of fish, with Dan getting the nod there in numbers. Hard hits, hard fighting, and finally met Josh, a facebook friend, who is an excellent fisherman and a terrific net man as well.
Can’t remember a trip where I caught more fish in recent memory….Check the vid: http://youtu.be/LBDgDHhmRDw
has had a steady flow of 2.1 due to the lack of rain. Went to the black hole and set up the camera. Had a great vid of a nice tiger jumping around, shaking his head, etc and when I looked the camera was straight up in the air and I was filming branches, clouds, and the like for around 4 min. Talk about the one that got away.
This was shot, then edited with movie maker, my first attempt at editing. Check it out.
Back to the steelies on Tues. Look for more vids to come. http://youtu.be/32QRmLg7d1I
Got there after fishing a low and clear Elk on Friday to near perfect conditions at Chautaqua. The fishing was really good, but as I left I saw a large group, so I knew the weekend was gonna get crowded, which it did.
That night Steve arrived with 2 friends from the trout club and we prepared for Olcott in the morning where we were going to meet Dan and Sean.
Getting there a little late we still managed to get good spots and Steve, Dan, and Sean across the creek had instant success and caught a lot of really nice browns during this day. I was focused on getting one of the guests into some fish and she managed to get into some real beauties. (Not including their names without their approval). I did manage a few and lost the salmon of the year at the net.
The following morning we went to Chautauqua and met with low water and not a lot of fish. Dan picked one up, I did, the male guest did and that was about it. We got to my favorite hole and Steve lost a beaut, and I do mean a beaut, at my fave spot above 90. I hooked a nice one that Steve and I double teamed until it shook the hook after a 15 min battle royal.
Great weekend, great guests, great food and drink and in all a wonderful weekend in NY. Maybe one of my funnest times ever.
Left my card reader adapter at the cabin, pics later.
this last few days and got out fishing on Monday. Perfect water conditions, tons of fish, gorgeous weather.
What more can I say?
