with Al. The creek was low, slow flow, but the weather was just perfect.
My first fish was a huge brown trout that promptly broke my line. The next fish launched my leader into a tree behind me as the hook came out. I did catch 8 fish today and the largest was this bow below the new dam. Would have had 12, but after missing 4 fish, I checked the hook and it was fouled. Oh, well….

Went to Bull Creek
Was hoping to see my friend, Matt, but he was not driving the truck.
So, I took my new dog, Elin, and watched the guys stock on Thurs.
Couldn’t resist going down to fish this morning so I went down and fished till noon. The biggest fish I caught was about 15″. But I sure got a lot of fish. The fresh stocked bows, browns, and brooks would hit just about anything. There were very few guys there…I fished 2 hours before any one showed up. Saw maybe 8 guys all morning. Nothing worth pulling out the camera, but the number of fish caught more than made it worthwhile. An 18 degree start turned into a beautiful sunny day.
Seeing a mink made it even better.
We got another snowfall
so, we loaded up the cars and went to the club.
The water was just perfect. Nice and green in color with a decent flow.
I managed to get some nice fish below the lower quad bridge and caught one in the mid twenties in the morning. Got a mid 20″ brown in the same spot in the afternoon.
The one in the picture came from the walking bridge and was taken with my new camera. Al, Dan, and Sean all caught lunkers as well today.
Steve plowed the road before we left, and the access is just fine, the fishing was awesome.
Finally
got back to the club after a long weather delay.
Found the creek in good shape and started out at the lower quad bridge. Dan got into a fish right away, while Sean and I worked for a half hour or so before connecting. The fishing got good as the day got longer.
Above the bridge the fish really turned on and continue getting better and better at each subsequent stop, finishing the day at the walking bridge and a delicious deer roast, cheese, pepperoni and a cold one or two.
The only downside was breaking my camera…
Having stocked
on Friday, went up on Sunday to try my luck.
I can’t explain how the creek got “greener” as it was really clear on Friday, but it did.
I lost a huge fish above the lower quad bridge and another at the walking bridge. These are two fish I got at the walking bridge as I concluded the day there.
One was on the self timer, another was taken by a new member who was also finishing the day at the bridge.
