Had a ball in Erie

watching Dan and Sean (esp Dan) clobber the steelies. All 3 of us lost about 8 a piece, but Dan caught about 20, and Sean 5 or so……me……zippo. Could not stop the fish from shaking off, breaking line, line tangling, you name it. Had a ball with the guys and Dan’s lovely home at Pymatuming. Can’t wait to get back up.
Steve might stock on Fri and I will fish the club on Sat. Will return to Erie next week for hopefully better luck (for me).d1

Went to the club today

100_1068100_1069finally……I was sick all weekend. Low water and cloudy is the best way to describe it. Non the less I was still able to catch some fish below the lower quad bridge and at the curve. The hole above the curve was also pretty good. Just for grins I went to the pond and caught a really big largemouth bass, a huge bow, and a huge brown trout. I will put the pic’s up as soon as I get the camera from the car. A great day and an even greater way to end it.

Haven’t been writing

cause I haven’t been doing anything worth writing about, except……
Steve did a lot of stream improvements (no Pic’s) at the club, too numerous to mention here. Let’s sum it up and say he is making a perfect fishing place even more perfect. And he is stocking Fri to boot.
Deep sea fished in Aruba…..bust
Went to Erie to blown-out conditions….bust. Did go to the club but struggled to catch fish due to low water. This recent rain should help he fishing all over.

Steve stocked

on Friday, so I went up to the club on Saturday. Found the creek really low and the fish kinda spooky. I did get 15 fish, but I averaged a fish every 30 min or so. Steve put some really nice tigers in the creek and some brooks that were just as awesome. We still need some rain and the upcoming cooler temps are gonna help.
But, the survival rate was really good this year, and the Yellow Creek Trout Club will have another great year, and possibly one of the best ever. Great to be back.sept

Went back

aug1to Yellow for the first time this summer.  The water was a great height, color, but a tad warm.  As a result I did not fish for the trout (after catching a couple), but tried for the carp instead.  Did hook one carp, but lost him.  I did catch a 20″ bow, but I was too afraid of stressing the fish, so after an hour and a half I tried to concentrate on bass, then carp.

Did meet a perspective member who I think will join.  I told him how great the club was, and Steve came and took him on a tour.  I wish he could experience how great the club is, but the conditions today were tough.

With the holdovers and Steve stocking in 3 weeks……………look out.  I am predicting another banner year for YCTC.
