After the spill

I went back to the club to assess the damages. Stopped at the pond and made a couple of casts and caught 2 really nice browns and hooked a bow that may have been the largest fish I ever hooked at the club.
Hoping to get the results of the water quality tests soon. It is such a shame that this event happened. Steve will do whatever it takes to right this terrible wrong.

Fish Kill

Dear Club Member:

This letter is to inform you of what has happened at YCTC and the entire stream of Yellow Creek.

There has been a major fish kill due to an unknown substance. There is testing being done at this time on water, fish, and tree limb samples to determine the cause of the situation. The DEP, PA. Fish Commission, Environmental testing groups, and PA. State Police are all involved in the investigation.

I believe that this was no accident, that someone deliberately did this to sabotage the club. Since this is the water-way to Homer City’s drinking water, these acts are a federal offense and charges will be taken if justice can be served.
I do plan to stock fish in June once I get word that the water is safe to put trout back into the stream. There are trout surviving at the tributary in front of the pavilion.

I would like to thank everyone who has called with their concerns on the situation YCTC has taken a blow, but I’m determined and have faith that this will not ruin what has become a great fishery. IN GOD WE TRUST!!!

Nice brown

Got there at 6 and there were 2 guys there. Kinda fished with them most of the day. Did really well below the lower quad bridge, but did lose 2 monsters there, even with the net. Did get a 20″ tiger there, and one really big bow too. Caught a bunch at the curve and in the stretch below the curve. That is becoming a favorite of mine.

Did really well in the 2 beats we had at the tournament and landed a big bow there as well. Al’s rock is Al’s desert to me, struck out there again.

Memorial Day

we remember those who gave their lives to keep us free. Thank you.

Spent the day at the club and posted this pic.

God bless our vets. Our thanks go out to you.

May 20th

and still cold and really wet. Went to the club and it poured the whole time I was there.
The curve was really awesome, and that being
said, I lost a huge brown and a huge bow there. I
went to the car to change clothes and left my net
in the car. Returned to fish minus the net and as a
result, I lost both fish at my boots.
Lost another beaut below the curve on the long
stretch. Did manage a big one below the quad bridge, but struck out flat at Al’s rock. Saw 3 other guys in total, after 2 hours of having the place to myself.
